 Story: Beneath the Waves

Interview with DreamCatcher81

What was your inspiration for BTW? How long have you had the idea?
My inspiration was my best friend and I watching the Little Mermaidtogether. She's a writer too and she decided to write a mermaid story.Since my other story, Fîyär, wasn't going to well- It kind of ran dry-I decided to try to write a mermaid one too.

Was it fun to write the story? How easy was it?
Ithink it is definately fun. As long as I don't have a writer's block.xD It's actually been fairly easy so far because I'm excited about itand have tons of ideas and the whole story mapped out, chapter bychapter. I'm just worried about the editing part. xP

Why do you think other members like the story?
Thisis a hard question. xD I would guess though, because it's different. The idea of a girl turning into a mermaid is pretty common, but thestory itself is unique. Or at least in my eyes! And also the surprises. There's a lot of twists that no one would really suspect.

What's your favorite part of it, personally?
Iprobably shouldn't say my favorite part because it's not posted yet andwon't be for a long time since it's near the end. I'll say this though. It's fish forms [No, they don't shift into fishes if that's what yourthinking]. You probably don't get it now, but when the chapter rollsaround, you'll know what I mean.

Preface

"Underthe sea we off the hook. We got no troubles. Life is the bubbles. Underthe sea. Under the sea. Since life is sweet here we got the beat here, naturally." -Sebastian, Under the Sea

Agirl is running. Each step she takes brings her farther away fromeverything she has known. Everything she wishes not to know. Everythingshe hates. Her life. She is running harder now, the cold salt from theocean breeze whipping her hair back, stinging her face. She runs as herlife depends on it.

Almost there, she thinks, almost there. She runs until she reaches the shore. She knows what shemust do. Despite the fear she has felt before, she feels no hesitation. The choppy waves look like ripples of silk to her. The freeze as shedips her toe into the water is only a mere chill, subsiding into a warmtingly feeling rising up inside her. The ocean is calling. She gazestowards the sun. It is setting over the horizon, washing its gentlegolden rays across the deep blue expanse before her. The tingly feelinghas risen like a balloon filling with air. She is content. With nohesitation, she takes a deep breath and extends her hands before her, leaping high into the air, twisting into a perfect dive. The lastglimpse of her is her feet, sinking swiftly into the deep blue ocean.

Despitethe large splash left above, everything below is peaceful. Everythingis quiet. The fish swim around her; the seaweed brushes her ankles asshe swims rapidly deeper. She has waited too long for this. The tinglyfeeling has enveloped her in a warm cocoon of happiness. She hasaccomplished her destiny. For the first time in her life she feelscomplete. She lets out a contented sigh and torpedoes farther into thedeep, dark unknown.

From the shore a lone girlhides behind a rock watching intently with cat-like green eyes. As soonas the other girl is underwater, her lithe form which is clothed in allblack, is running towards the sand faster than possible. She leaps highinto the air and falls into the cold, choppy water with barely a splashand speeds along, soon overtaking the girl although she does not showher presence. And she follows this way, hiding behind rocks, all thewhile with a crafty smile on her face.

 The General's Report

Written by iGrievous

Welcome to the General’s report, a review on today’s artists and songs.
Today, I will be reviewing some All-American Rejects.

The Reviews

TheAll-American Rejects is an alternative band started by frontman TysonRitter and guitarist Nick Wheeler. They formed in the town ofStillwater, Oklahoma, and had a drummer, although I don’t remember hisname. The drummer left the band, because of tension, and the two lonerejects made an album called the All-American Rejects. Later, ChrisGaylor (The current drummer) And Mike Kenneth (Another guitar player)joined in, and in 2005 they made their second Album, "Move Along"
That’ssome history for you, but about the band, most their songs are prettygood, but some aren’t the cleanest, like “Dance Inside” being asuggestive song, and “Gives you Heck”, (Not really heck, but the swearword.) Which, you can tell is not such a clean song. But other songsare pretty cool, like “Move Along”, rumoured to be an anti-suicidemessage. And what’s more is that in the music video for it, near theend, Tyson is seen wearing an Our Lady of Guadeloupe shirt.(Basically, for those Christians who don’t know, who that is, it’s Mary, Jesus’mother.) So they have some good, and some bad songs, but most of themare clean. A pretty okay, but mature band.
I rate them 3.9 stars.
Today’salbum review is for the All-American reject’s second album, Move Along. This album was released on July 12, 2005, and was certified doubleplatinum (Over 2,000,000 copies sold, I think.) As of June 6, 2008. Ithas a lot of good songs, for the most part. Of course, this albumincludes the song “Dance Inside”, which as I said before, issuggestive. But then, it includes the rumoured anti-suicide “MoveAlong”, their most popular until “Gives You Heck”, “It Ends Tonight”,and a few other popular ones. There is also a deluxe version of thealbum available on iTunes, which comes with a few of the songs live atthe Wiltern Theatre, and more goodies.
I rate this album four stars.
Now,I’m reviewing one of my favorite songs, “Move Along”. This, as I saidbefore is believed to be anti-suicide, but it is known that it’s amessage to perservere when you’re going through tough times. In thevideo game Rockband™, the song was changed so instead of fading out, itends the way the bridge does, before the piano break. “Move Along” wasfeatured on TV in a LEGO® Bionicle™ commercial for the Toa Inika™, andseveral others.
I rate this song five stars.
So that’s the review on AAR. I hope you found it interesting.

  206 Bones - Book Review

Written by Black Cat

Istarted just watching the television series, but of course I had tooread the books too. I remember getting strange looks from the people inthe adult section. I can't wait until this gets to my library, or whenmy mom will allow me to purchase it. I think I'll have to wait forlibrary.
I (of course) read the review, and got a pretty big sneakpeek of it. Here’s my version. Here’s the sitch- Temperance Brennanfinds herself in some kind of very small, very dark enclosed space. Sheis bound, hands to feet. Is she buried alive? Who wants Tempe dead, orat least out of the way, and why? Tempe begins to slowly remember...
Tempeand Lieutenant Ryan had accompanied the recently discovered remains ofa missing heiress from Montreal to the Chicago morgue. Tempe wasaccused of mishandling the autopsy — and the case. Someone made anincriminating phone call. Within hours, the one man with informationabout the call was dead. Back in Montreal, the corpse of a secondelderly woman was found in the woods, and then a third. Back in herMontreal lab, Brennan links Jurmain's death to the brutal murders ofother elderly women by a particularly nasty serial killer. As sheexplores her premise further, she is just beginning to understand sheis a trapped rodent in a deadly cat and mouse game.
Naturally, Idoubt anyone lacking a strong stomach should read this. Also, it cancontain breaking dawn level stuff, so I don't recommend it to anyoneyounger then 12-13. Other then that it a great, and strongly suggestedread.
